About Nicole

"Birth and death are the most singular events we experience -and the contemplation of death, as of birth, should be a thing of beauty, not ignobility" - Jacob K. Javits

This outlook is what has driven Nicole from a young age to care for others near death, through death and after death. A calling that started in youth has led her to offer bedside comfort and spiritual guidance to actively dying persons. Her belief that a person's life through death should be celebrated and has established a practice as an independent life-cycle celebrant. She is a ritualist and is called to create celebration of life ceremonies  in order to honor legacy, grief, and facilitate healing.

She is currently a  self-led student of transpersonal psychology, studies various spiritual traditions, and embraces all loving paths of enlightenment.

She calls her painting style deconstructed realism. A process of impressionistic layers suits her need to express the gritty nature of life cycles and the divine transcendence through the death process. Nicole has created art works ever since she could make marks on paper with crayons.

She is influenced by Gustov Klimt, Pre-Raphaelites, Abstract Expressionism, Jackson Pollock,  and Jenny Saville.

She also nurtures her passion project, Private House Society, a curated collection of vintage goods, furniture and art –often embellishing her work in gorgeous golden-gilted old frames.

Nicole considers herself a high-functioning introvert who does enjoy enlightened conversation. An avid gardener, she lives in a 1940 cape cottage on a tree-lined street of a small town with her beloved husband and dogs.

Nicole holds a BFA in Communication Design and Illustration from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and a Life-Cycle Celebrant Certification from the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, NJ.

Professionally, Nicole has worked as a designer, art director and illustrator in the advertising industry for about 30 years.
